This is similar to my Medion PC.

Different layout and consequentially this Heatsink Fan Shroud is in the way of my noisy PSU which I suspect is causing occasional freezes.

I want to remove PSU and give it a Clean & Lube but not sure if this shroud removes.
Does it just clip on and off?

I think you mean CPU not PSU I'd like to watch you 'lube' the PSU. Also you probably mean the fan on the CPU not the actual CPU which maks no noise at all.0

Well spotted Tony
Yep. The FAN attached UNDER the PSU (The PSU COOLING fan)
is noisy and wants quietening not the PSU itself!
NOT the CPU fan either.
Any ideas or was that just a lesson in PC correctness. hi, if it is the psu you are wanting to remove ?
ive just replaced a cpu in a friends medion pc , the pcu is tight against this cowling, ?
its only held on by pressure , four little tabs , gently prise it off with a flat bladed screwdriver , when refitting it just pushes back on, hope this helps. ?0 -

Sound like the same H1962.
Thanks for your constructive comment.

Point of interest - what is suitable as a lube for the fan bearing? CPU fans are as cheap as chips - even cheaper if you count the chippy near us !!
But in answer to your question, id just blast a bit of WD40 on it if you have some handy0 -
there are some sprays that are more suited to electronics like this, ive not used this one but have used similar in the past https://www.amazon.co.uk/SERVISOL-200ml-ELECTRONIC-CLEANING-SOLVENT/dp/B003SP6ILE0

Those cowls are a poor design, they just allow dust directly into the CPU heatsink. It's done mostly to reduce noise and partly to reduce cost by not fitting so many case fans, but the result is afore mentioned dust and excessive heat inside the case, plus all that heat is exiting via the PSU, which will put more stress on it that is really desirable.
I guess you get what you pay for and to be fair my PC (tower only) was a £1000+ custom built graphics/gaming rig.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
