Is it worth keeping bank correspondence? Do you guys keep banking correspondence like:
- Overdrafts - letter telling you of the limit, increase/decrease limit letters
- Account opening confirmation letters with account details
- Online/mobile banking logon details and confirmation of their setup
- PIN numbers for cards
- credit cards - confirmation letter, credit limit, increase/decrease limit letters
- changes in T&Cs
- etc...

I always keep all correspondence, but that's just me. It may be totally useless, but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing it's filed away should I ever need it for any reason in the future.0

I never keep any paper correspondence that is most of the paper stuff I get I throw away. however anything I think I might be useful I take a photograph of and just keep it as a jpg in a folder on my hard drive0

I disposed of 10 years worth about 10 years ago... never looked back, keeping paper work like that is bad for your mental health IMO!0

I don't throw anything away.
Having said that only the last couple of weeks some of the stuff from years ago started to be shredded & recycled.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

6 years of bank statements, "Account Closed" statement from previous bank. 18 months of utilities. 6 years of HMRC stuff. ALL correspondence from our Sheltered Housing landlord, a particularly inneficient, corporately dumb organisation. I lost count of the number of times I have had recourse to proving them incorrect by using their own documentation. I have a Receipts file and a Guarantee file and destroy anything out of date/warranty in the cross-cut shredder.
The most important stuff to retain is my DLA proof of permanency and I keep electronic copies of all correspondence with DWP. Every year I scan all paper and shred anything out of date.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

No need to keep letters stating an overdraft/credit card limit, increase or decreases.
Same with the account opening letters
In fact I wouldnt keep any of them, for some reason I had kept the letters stating the PIN's for a few cards but have shredded them now.
Whats included in the "etc" ?0 -
Keep statements with interest on.
Might save you time with HMRC.0
