Experian Query

Hi all

I've just signed up to the 30 day free trial on Experian and I'm a little bit confused by it! (Doesn't take much!)

The only debt that is shown on there is my mortgage. It makes no mention of my bank accounts, credit card or finance on my car. My score doesn't look too good and I've just been rejected by Tesco for one of their credit cards (which I only want to accumulate the clubcard points) and they have rejected me on affordability which has caught me by surprise as my finances are all fine! (although apparently not).

Anyway, is it normal for Experian to not show any other information other than my mortgage??

  • You need to check all three files for a complete picture.

Experian will only show what is reported to them.

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by all three files?

    As ZX81 says,

there are three credit reference agency's currently operating in the UK.

He has kindly listed them for you.

Creditors can report to any, or all of these agencies, so you need to check your file with each one.

Noddle is free to use, clearscore will show you your equifax report, also for free.

You can order a £2 statutory copy from Experian, you dont need to sign up for there trial, i suggest once you have your report, cancel straight away.

Brill - thanks for your help.

I've spoken to Tesco and they have said that from the sounds of my circumstances I should be able to appeal the decision.
