Full & Final Settlement Question

Hello,I have received a discount from DLC which I am going to accept.From a balance of £9922.49 to £4961.25.I am happy with that.
Here is their letter :
"If you are able to pay £4961.25 as a single payment,we will write off the remaining £4961.25.
Where your account is reported to the Credit Reference Agencies and a discount is applied,we would update your record as "partially settled".This indicates,that the account has been cleared but with a lesser amount than the balance owed.
To take advantage of this offer,please contact us etc... "
Can someone please tell me if this letter is a sufficient proof my account will be settled (partially) and that they won't get back to me in futur or do I need to ask them something else in writing ?
Many thanks.Catherine.

You can ask them for a letter to confirm the payment has been received and the account is settled, but they will probably send one anyway.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

They say they will write off the remaining balance.

You have NO idea!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
The number they offered just seemed to me to be a % question which means generated. If the OP had made the offer then it would be likely to be round number

Thank you all for your replies.I had originally made an offer for £4000 (maybe I should have gone for less ?) but it's too late now.Anyway,they declined it,then they made me an offer of over £7500 which I refused and yesterday I received the above offer which I have decided to accept.So far,I have managed to settle with 2 of my creditors at 50%,3 more to go.
Again,thank you for your help.0 -
50% seems pretty standard these days
