Cat C insurance advice

Last November my partners cars was involved in a accident and was classed as a Cat C, we have the car back and made the repairs...etc

Now the car insurance is due for this year, I was wondering if there was any implications for getting insured, and if it was worth her getting insured Full com or just go for 3rd party fire & theft, as the insurers will class the car as worthless, if an accident was to happen again.

Any suggestions or advice would be amazing.

Thank you in advance

Assuming you had a pay out from your insurer you may want to change insurer.

But going third party/f/t will likely be more expensive than comprehensive.

Looking into it there isn't much difference between the two so may as well go with comprehensive.

    Thankyou for the advice

One of our cars, with me driving but that one having my husband as first driver, was written off as uneconomical by the third party's insurer (We dealt directly with them). The damage was minimal, but the car is old so a rear door difficult to source at a sensible price. We bought the car off the insurer for 10% of the book price and have left it as it is.

It passed it's MOT and there was no problem with reinsuring with the same company, who did want to add 25%, until my husband objected and they reduced the increase to £5.
