access to my Post Office/bank of ireland credit card

The problem is that there has been a mix up with the one of the main questions/passwords they ask for when you phone your credit card company. And I have either put in the wrong details on the form when opening the account or they are not able to read my writing, or someone their end has written it incorrectly.
I have rung them several times, and gone through the password questions and I have asked to speak to a customer services/manager when they say I have given the incorrect details and I can't get to my account, it gets a bit heated, to no avail.
So i cannot find out how much longer the 0% finance is for, which I could do with using at the moment!! Plus I'd like to cancel the account.

Lots of people here have reported customer service issues with this card.

How do you normally access your account? Many credit card companies state how long 0 per cent deals last for on their statements. If you don't get those then you may find it on their internet banking site.

Closing a credit card account is easy. I generally do it by phone, but in your case I'd write. Clear the account. Write and tell them to close it. Destroy the card. Wait until the next statement to see if there is any trailing interest. If there is none, or once it is paid, cancel the direct debit.
  • I got this card too and want to get rid of it, I have had quite a few problems with them. I wouldn't recommend this card to anyone, just too much hassle.
Nothing to see here, move along.
