Too late to remove paint protection on car order?
I've recently ordered a new car, first time I've bought a brand new car and normally I'm quite savvy with anything to do with money but think I got caught on an off day!
My dealer added lifeshine autoglym to my order, he didn't actually ask me if I wanted it, just added it to my bill and showed me the video of what it covered. I noticed it was £399 which seemed a bit hefty but the video made it look great and so I didn't protest (so my fault).
I paid a deposit for the car and signed the car order form. The PCP was later done on the phone, which confused me as I'd assumed that it had been done and agreed as the figures had been given and he had paperwork for me to sign so assumed it was but after taking the deposit he then told me I'd be called to arrange the PCP by phone and I have to sign the credit agreement when I go to pick up the car. It was all agreed on the phone thankfully.
Having read up on lifeshine there are differing views but I can see the benefit although not at £399. Do I have the right to request this is removed at this stage or is it too late as I've signed the car order form with lifeshine added and the finance figures have already been calculated?
It's not the end of the world for me if I can't, I've learnt my lesson for the next time I order a car if nothing else!

The paint protection is done at the dealership, so you should be able to have it taken off the order. Best you contact the dealership in the morning.
The product is good especially for the everyday user, but the price is a little over.0 -

Understatement.
You can buy the kit on ebay and do it yourself for between £5 and £30.

I'll request this today and let you know the outcome.
Agree it is overpriced, the kit on eBay including the aftercare kit the dealer give you is £80. That's over £300 for application and for the warranty so very steep.
Fingers crossed they're not difficult about it. My PCP will be £11 a month cheaper!0 -
This has been removed, however they have offered it at a discount price.
What do you think would be a reasonable price to pay for this treatment?0 -

get a decent detailer to do it to a good standard. The dealer will apply the treatment with little care or skill.
Google "new car detail"0 -
The dealer added it to my mums new car as a freebie in order to sweeten the deal for us. However 1 thing I noticed in the paper work (not just his speil about it) was that if you say spill something on the interior. If it can't be cleaned off, they will send a professional to clean it off.
In that respect it's not bad as a freebie, but not worth £400!0
