Is There a Law Against Fine Amount?

I know you can appeal, blah blah blah but I am wanting to know if there is a specific law that says a fine (or invoice, whatever you want to call it) cannot be a certain percentage of the original cost?

So let's say the car park charge was £10. Is there a law that says the limit of the fine can only be double that, or can it be £1000? I know the higher it is, the more likely to get off but I'm hoping my question is clear.

It's the BPA and IPC Codes of Practice that set the amount. That charge is a maximum of £100, with a minimum if a 40% discount for early payment. PoFA is silent on the level of the charge.

Any AOS member of either ATA in Scotland would need to comply with the respective CoP.

They won't stop at Scotland, now they're called the International Parking Community.

They wouldn't survive two minutes in South Africa!

POPLA is the British parking assoc appeal service , and not an ATA , and NO POPLa is not regulated by the goverment , over the last few yrs the BPA have had 3 different suppliers of the appeal system , one of which was a debt collector!

even the ISPA which was setup to watch over POPLa cannot get involved , and several of the committee have recently resigned
