Anyone widened their dropped kerb?

Evening
Our new house has a single driveway currently but the entrance is pretty tight and you have to be very careful when reversing onto the drive.
I'm mulling over getting the brick pillar moved over to widen the driveway entrance. At the same time I wondered whether it may be worth widening the dropped kerb and possibly making it more into a double drive.
This would mean paving part of the pavement which has a grass verge and also extending the dropped kerb. This is a tarmac dropped kerb and not the cobbled tyre stones normally used.
Has anyone managed to have their dropped kerb widened and if so is it a straightforward and not too pricey a process?
Many thanks

my neighbour widened their entrance, and when they drive the cars in they still use the single dropped kerb as they park their cars at a sort of diagonal way.

We are the same as you, single width dropped but want to widen it. You can only use council 'approved' contractors and I had one come out and to replace 3 kerb stones (2 fully dropped and the 3rd a tapered one) he said it would cost about £1200
So we left it and bump up the kerb slowly, as it's fairly low anyway
Think there was an application fee of £150 or £175 too
We thought it a rip off. Should be info on your local councils website0 -
Thank you both for the replies- ideally I'd like to widen it by a couple of feet to make it easier to access the drive and avoid driving over the verge. I'll give them a call and see what they say.0
