Christmas short breaks for young children

Options
We've done Christmas at Alton towers & we've done chessington.
Butlins offer a similar Christmas package - but I'm hoping there is something else in the south east similar we've missed - I can't face Butlins!

So a Christmas package (one or two nights) aimed at small children with santa visit & hopefully panto show & other entertainment of that type. Nice water park or pool onsite too would be good.

Any ideas?
Basically anywhere in the south east & not ridiculously expensive.

Looks interesting - but for such a short break we'd like to keep to the south east, it's a little further than I'd like to travel.
    We are Surrey/Sussex border.

Other than butlins there isnt really anywhere that has onsite entertainment. Theres lots of hotels/holiday camps, but not with entertainment out of season. I would suggest pontins at camber based on your location, but if butlins is a nono, then pontins would be even further off the scale. Centre parcs is obvs out due to distance as would be ashbury/manor house hotel

Is it christmas day you want to go away for, or just somewhere to go in december for a christmassy experience?

No, not Christmas itself, sometime in December before Christmas.
The Alton Towers one is really nice, but it's a bit further than we wanted for such a short break.

    Def not Pontins!

It might have to be chessington.....
  • I know of a family that go to Centreparcs every Christmas. They have an older son and twins that will now be about eight - but they've been going since the twins were babies. It might be too far, but I'm not sure.

In the South West there are the Manor and Ashbury hotels, which offer plenty of different activities.
