Do you know, I almost put a line in my earlier post along the lines of "expect Unholyangel to disagree with this", but I thought that might upset some.
I'm still not convinced you're right, but we digress.
Why would you think UK law would apply to amazon but doesn't apply to a german company or chinese company for example? Especially when amazons terms themselves say the contract with them is governed under the duchy of luxembourg.
The purpose of the directives on consumer rights are to harmonise the basic protection to consumers so they have that minimum level of cover no matter where they are buying from within the single market. If they were bound by the laws of the country they were selling to, the directives would be pointless.You keep using that word.
