I have a V+ which (touch wood) is working fine at the moment.
But if and when something goes wrong with it, can I assume Virgin will not fix it (as they are being phased out) and will force a Tivo box on me?
Thank you.

No. I have a V+ box had problems(seems they don't like Panasonic smart tv certain model number. Do not boot up past PL56 if the service goes down. I have found if I take the HIML out and boot works. The last one started pixallation(sp) ), so I have gone through 3 this year. They have hundreds of V+ boxes and just swap over.
I have been total a few times they will replace them at some point with the Tivo but that could be a few years away. They have a totally new box being launched soon anyway which will replace the Tivos.0
