Amex application

Hi,

My brother applied for Amex Rewards credit card yesterday around 10pm. The application was approved straight away.

Do Amex confirmation emails anymore? He had no email so far with credit limit etc.

No they're still in the dark ages but they do send the card out pretty quick, 4-5 days.
If he's dying to know what his limit is, call them Monday. I would just wait though, you don't want to look desperate.

No they dont do confirmations you usually just receive everything in the post in a quite thick envelope.

When I applied three weeks ago, the card was here in four days. I had no confirmation e-mail, all of the information was on the welcome letter.

I applied for the Amex platinum everyday cash back card and got a confirmation email stating I was successful on Saturday but nothing in regards to limits etc it just stated

Congratulations, your application for the Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card has been approved. You'll soon be enjoying all the amazing benefits of being an American Express Cardmember.

What happens next?

You'll receive your Card in the post within the next ten working days. If you have not selected your own PIN, you will also receive a separate letter by post enclosing an auto-generated PIN. I applied for this card on the basis that the MSE club stated that i had a 90% chance of getting the BA card which i thought cant be correct in view of past credit probelms.

So i applied for the Plat card - got accepted and then when i called on monday to find out the credit limit thinking it was going to be around £1000.00 for starters (which would have been fine for me) the agent said that i had been given 4.6k credit limit straight away !
I nearly dropped the phone !!

I've had quite a few AMEX cards; they usually email you soon after your submitted application stating 'Congratulations, your application was successful'.

You'll only find out your credit limit and APR when you receive the card, unless you call them.
