Virgin 0% transfer - 100% pre-approved but told to wait to hear?

Just applied for a Virgin card with 100% pre-approval from MSE, to do a balance transfer. I didn't get an immediate decision, is this a really bad sign?

Never done a balance transfer before so a bit worried.

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Just wait for their response.

You presumably don't mean 100% pre approved but that you put your details into the mse eligibility and it came out with 100% likelihood of getting this card deal.

The eligibility checker isn't totally accurate and your application may well have been referred and a response will come through in the next few days.

No, Virgin are pretty easy to get. I find many cards have issues doing a straight forward approval on the weekend and refer a decision quite often.

I chat to people in the industry and as stupid as it seems the several databases that your application is checked against simply aren't online over the weekend for maintenance or upgrades.

    I know, ridiculous right!
  • This has happened to me today.same circumstances.to be honest and I know its daft but I only want the card for the sex pistols card design.seems daft that mse says your 100 % likely to get the card then you have to wait for a decision and left wondering whats wrong with my credit file.ive acquired paypal credit, mbna intu and argos card in last 2 weeks and I only applied for virgin because of the 100%

That might well be the problem.

A fourth application within two weeks is likely to signal 'desperation'.
  • Yes I know and I wouldnt have bothered if it didnt say 100%
I do pay my cards off in full every month tbough.
Experian say my credit file is 999

So maybe experian can issue with a card....
  • ...........And the Experian report was probably created before your 4 applications - wait for next month's to see the damage.
