Nationwide Refer-A-Friend Bonus

I am a Nationwide current account customer and recently neglected to refer a friend online before they actually opened their account, so assumed that both he and I would have missed out on the £100 switching bonus. However, following a query to customer services I was told that we would still both receive the bonus as long as I refer him within 90 days of his application (using the current account switching service and switching at least two DDs).
Thought this may be of use to someone - and, of course, if anyone has switched recently without benefiting from the bonus, I'd be more than happy to retro-refer you - that is, if you don't mind disclosing your name, date of birth, and email address.

I've just switched after being recommended by a friend and don't know what happens next.
I dare say that the process hasn't changed but to clarify, I got a Nationwide email forwarded from a friend and then opened the account and switched. There wasn't a link on the email or anywhere on the application process to link my application to my friend.
I spoke to Nationwide and they said that their system will link the two as they have my name and dob.
Is it simply a case of waiting to hear from them now or would I normally have heard from them in the fortnight since I opened the account?0 -

No other communication is sent.
Thanks for that. It will be December, having thought about it.
One of the guys at work was talking about switching to M&S for their voucher bonus so I might have a word with him about Nationwide instead.0 -

We had a different outcome. Nationwide didn't acknowledge the referral initially, I then queried as the referrer and after a delay they responded that the account holder needed to contact them. I ultimately got £50 as compensation for their delays in response, but the missus as the referee and new account holder ended up with £200.0
