Branded versus no branded tv UHD

Branded tv's are pretty pricy compared to non branded one's. Any one with some experience of these in terms of reliability?

How long's a piece of string? Seriously, components are better than they used to be years ago. I got a Hanspree 9 years ago on a very cheap deal when they weren't too well-known, and it's still going strong....

Ask yourself would you be happier with a tv that lasts 4 years, if you paid £300 or £3000 for it?*

*not allowing for extended warranties, obviously ;)

As I understand it a lot of the budget models, even the known branded ones, are assembled in Turkey these days, just like a lot of washing machines/dryers and I presume other electrical goods.
The spate of fires with dryers has definitely put me off buying anything electrical made in Turkey but I could be over-reacting

You've a 50/50 chance the branded and non-branded sets use the same screen maker.

And a 1in6 chance they are virtually the same set just with a few minor differences.

we won't know unless we know what models you're looking at... :)

I think you may well be - the DESIGN of the faulty driers was certainly not done in Turkey. The Turkish factories are just assembling them to the design and so are not responsible for the shortcomings of that design.....
