Uses for caviar!

I know it's not a regular old style ingredient but I have a can of 'grained salmon caviar'.
It was given to our department by a visiting Russian academic and no one was keen to take it. It was going to be thrown away and I hate to see waste so I ended up with it.
I have some vague ideas about posh canapes at christmas, but to be honest I've never used it before and don't really know what to do with it!
Any suggestions gratefully received

I've really only used it in posh canapes, as you say. Blinis are nice, and you can buy them ready made from Waitrose to warm them up and top them with creme fraiche and the caviar. I once made some tiny savoury eclairs with choux pastry, and filled those with creme fraiche and caviar, and they went down very well.
I *think* there is a cream sauce that you can make which you stir the caviar through at the end and serve it with steamed of poached white fish, but I've never tried it.0 -

the nicest thing I've ever had with caviar was in a cafe in Spain run by a lovely Danish lady
she said it was a traditional Danish dish called (nearest she could get in English) Shooting Star, I was so intrigued by the name I just had to order it
not very practical, but it does have caviar in it
it had a pile of shelled prawns in marie rose sauce, topped with asparagus, a fried breaded fish on one side, buttered toast on the other & finished off with a little salad & large dollop of caviar
sounds odd, but it was a really nice combination
there was another fish mixed in with the prawns, but Rosa (the owner of the cafe) couldn't tell me the name of it in English0 -
Hello,
I made blini with sour cream and caviar for my birthday (lumpfish caviar, £1.89 for a pot in waitrose, so don't want to waste the leftovers).
Not sure what to do with the 1/2 pot that's left (about 25g left).
Any ideas?
Thanks,

The way we eat caviar in Denmark, is to boil an egg, slice it onto bread, dollop it with mayonnaise then hace the caviar on top. Mmmm, Danish open sandwich
