Amex Platinum Chargecard questions

Hi there,

I've been browsing these forums for answers regarding some doubts about this card but couldn't find a clear answer so I decided it'd justify opening a new thread...

1.- The AMEX Platinum chargecard offers loss and damage insurance for car rentals, but does it apply for all rental companies (that obviously accept Amex)? or just Hertz and Avis? Also, does it apply only when travelling abroad or also within the UK? I'm a frequent car renter and this would be a big game changer for me.

2.- Regarding the supplementary card; is it clear to see in the online statement which purchases were made with the main card and which ones with the supplementary?

3.- Does it create any kind of financial association in the CRA's when requesting a supplementary card?

1)It only applies to those via Amex Scheme (Hertz/Avis/Enterprise)
2)You get individual statements
3) Its not linked on CRA

My supplementary cardholder has never had a statement of her own, but on my statement it lists all purchases by me seperately from by Mrs Paully so you can see who spent what and where.
