Transferring credit limit

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew if MBNA would allow me to Open a 0% purchase CC and transfer the credit LIMIT from another MBNA 0% purchase CC that is about to end ? (The balance of this card would be cleared in full before I transferred the credit limit to the new CC.)

Thanks,
Dave

  • Yes, but you must talk to an operator and do not select at any point during the auto voice options to cancel the card. Once you talk to the operator, you should clearly explain that you would like to transfer your limit to the other card and then close the card.

I think that you should open the new account FIRST and see what credit limit you get. Then, if it is insufficient, ask if you can transfer some of the credit limit from card 1 to card 2.
