Hive with Sainsburys

Having done a comparison on this website, I am considering switching from British Gas to Sainsburys. A simple couple of questions - 1) will my Hive still work? 2)Will my Smart Meter still work?

    Yes and yes.

    Hive works regardless of supplier. Your smart meter will work with Sainsbury's as they are effectively British Gas under another name.

    Further to that, HIVE is not linked to your energy supplier in any way, so you can change to any supplier that suits you.

    Smart meters will still 'work' with any supplier, in as much as they will still record how much energy you are using, but they will not be able to send readings automatically to your new supplier (yet),
