E: 23/11 (2:00pm) Win Top Nordic Noir series on DVD or Blu-ray (Email)

Nordic Noir

We are giving away Trapped or Follow the Money on DVD or Blu-ray to three lucky winners!

On 30th November, two of the latest Nordic Noir & Beyond series will be competing against each other at the C21Drama Awards in London. Trapped and Follow the Money are vying to be named Best non-English Language Drama Series of 2016. Which show do you think should receive the prize? Let’s take a closer look at the nominees…

Trapped

The slow-burning murder mystery introduced Chief of Police Andri (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson) to the Scandi crime canon. We were absorbed by the pathetic fallacy and overwhelmingly cinematic landscapes presented on-screen. Following the series’ global success, Trapped has launched a new sub-genre of ‘Icelandic Noir’ as a worthy contender to its Nordic relations. Having taken home the trophy for Best European TV Fiction series at the Prix Europa Awards, filmmaker and creator Baltasar Korm!kur has promised us a second season to look forward to.

Follow the Money

Sparked by the discovery of a body near a wind farm, DR’s latest show explored an intricate corporate conspiracy, using an energy company as the perfect cover for unspeakable crimes. The cast boasts newcomer Natalie Madueño, alongside esteemed actors Thomas Bo Larsen (Dogme95’s Festen) and Department Q’s detective Nikolaj Lie Kaas in a villainous role. Each character alters the moral compass of Nordic Noir antiheros in a fresh new context. Series two has already aired in Scandinavia so we must wait for the money trail to pick back up on BBC Four.

To win one of the Top Nordic Noir series on DVD or Blu-ray, you will need to follow the clues in our own Newsletter nomination ceremony. Find out how to enter at the bottom of this week’s Nordic Noir & Beyond digital Newsletter – which is sent out by email on Thursday after 5pm.
