Moving house to duel fuel
Hello, quick question.
Ill be moving house at the end of the month.
My current property has a oil boiler, so I only currently have electricity supplied.
The house that I have purchased has a gas boiler so I am currently looking for my best duel fuel deal. All of the comparison sites ask if i want duel fuel, and when I select yes they ask for my previous supplier.
My question is does it matter who I put? I know they will show me "how much I will save" But will they just give me the cheapest overall? Or do some of the offers require you to already be with the supplier?

If you just want an idea of cost, it doesn't matter what current supplier & traiff you input; just look at the anticipated annual cost of the cheapest tariff. (and ignore any suggested savings)
There is the odd supplier/tariff that is only available to new customers - so existing customers cannot take advantage of it.
However, if you plan to switch, I suggest you use the correct data to ensure the correct supplier is approached to have the supply taken from.
So why not do it from the outset?
If you want the best deal for your energy, look at seperate suppliers - it's usually cheaper than a dual fuel deal.
Remember, you need to register with the existing supplier(s) when you move in before you can start switching supplier.0 -
If you are moving in a month, the pre-contract enquiry form will already have been completed by the vendor, and this should state who the current supplier is-so check with your solicitor, since you'll need to know this anyway in order to register with them.No free lunch, and no free laptop
