Collective switch?

Hi,

I signed up to BG during the collective switch almost a year ago (it run's out early Feb)

I missed the last switch event (I didn't realise I could swap to another BG fixed term)

Do you think its likely there will be another collective switch in the near year? :-/

With so many organisations now getting in on the act (not to mention it being a nice little earner for them), I'm sure there will be a collective tariff offered in January/February.

But whether BG will supply the winning tariff, and even if they do, whether it will (a) be competitive with the rest of market and/or (b) be any better than a tariff they offer generally at that time is anyone's guess.
(Only MSE seems to adopt the position that if the tariff is not better than one generally available at the time, then they won't offer it)

Check you are currently on a good deal, and if so, I suggest you wait until the switching window and then consult a comparison site, remembering to check seperate suppliers if you need both gas & electricity - seperate suppliers often work out cheaper than any dual fuel tariff.

Remember, Sainsburys is also BG (but often cheaper), so if they beat your current BG deal, you can switch to them today without any early exit fee.
But be careful as Sainsburys is not generally that cheap compared to the whole of market, and you may end up tied into early exit fees for a lot longer if you switch today.
