When will my score rise!?!

Hi all

I've recently tidied up a chunk of credit card debt and lower the existing available credit close to what I owe so not to tempt spendings.. I also closed to cards and have two new 0% cards (transferred over away from potential interest). My earnings are good ah for I have no other issues but having looked at clear score and money savings club my score has gone down quite dramatically in two months as a result. Previously it was good so I can only conclude it's these searches etc and the lowering of my available credit?
Will it take long for this to be corrected and in real terms is this a worry if I was to apply for a new mortgage to move home ?

The times this has to be posted, just shows how effective the CRA's advertising campaign has been, and how brainwashed a lot of consumers are on the subject.

Those averts use very questionable wording too, I might add !!

As posted above your score does not mean much but as you said the reason it dropped is a couple of credit searches and lowering your limits probably means your using a higher % of your available credit.

As stated, your credit "score" is just a meaningless tool, used to trap the unwary.

Far more important to any lenders is the way you utilise credit and the contents of your credit file.
A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.

This board does have FAQ and there are many threads where its pointed out that the number is pointless, yet people still come and post concerns. The MSE CC is promoted on it giving you the experian score, so new people finding the site may well use that before going to the forum.

OP, have you looked at your reports or just going on the score? Using Noddle & ClearScore you can see why your score has changed as they give access to reports for free, but if only going by MSE CC or Experian CreditMatcher you can't tell why its changed. It does seem that you realise the likely cause of your decrease.
