Accomodation in Stamford Lincs in January

The George Hotel for a 2 night weekend break requires a mortgage with Northern Rock ! Please can anyone suggest a super place to stay for 11th/12th January in the Burghley House'ish area (or indeed anywhere reasonably close because even a taxi ride or two outlay should still leave me in pocket) - all personal recommendations welcome please.

I can't recommend anywhere else, but I can highly recommend the George. The used to be one of my clients (ooer missus!), and though I didn't get to stay over, I can say that the food is to die for! x

The above should help you out !! Can personally recommend both the Crown and White Hart Ufford - the Crown is bang in the center of Stamford and ideally located for taxis, bars, restaurants etc etc !!

If you just want a bed for the night you could do Peterborough Alwalton Traveldoge. £26 a night and about 15-20 minutes by taxi.
