I Changed supplier only to find I wasn't happy as my storage heaters were not working!!So its the only heating source I have ! Rang up SCOTTISH POWER whom I have just changed to. As they were responsible according to my housing association.. They did come out to check the electrics etc.. It wasn't their fault !!
So contacted Scottish Power who did send a man to change the meter!! Only problem he put in reconditioned one!!!? Why I asked ? He said Scottish Power said no new meters only recond ones? So now I had a recon meter with other readings on it!! Much higher than my old meter!
I am now very scared I will not get proper accurate bills now. How can I?? I am a pensioner ,now worried sick as you cannot get hold of any of these companies easily!! Also they do my head in! please help me! Thank you so much.

The fitter makes a note of the new meter reading and supplies it to Scottish power

Hi,
When a meter exchange is carried out at a property, the engineer who carried out the work will record the final reading from the removed meter and also the start reading from the installed meter. These will then be registered on your account so that you are only billed to and from the readings the engineer has taken.
Please be assured, you will not be billed for any consumption you have not used at the property. Please don't hesitate to contact me here if you need any further help or information on this matter.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards
