Civil enforcement ltd parking fine

Hello all,
I have received a parking fine for going into a hotel ibis car park for 13 minutes to eat some food in my car, didn't see the notice in the car park at all. I have ignored 2 letters and now a third has came and they want £140 or they are going to take me to court. Just wanted some advice whether to ignore them or will they actually pursue me to court? Thanks Adam

    parking invoice , not fine

chances are its a debt collector letter, which can be ignored

the debt collectors cannot take you to court

CEL have 6 years to issue a court case in the small claims court (an MCOL) and yes they probably will

Why didn't you simply appeal and win, CEL are so easy to beat at POPLA and now you've missed that. You won't get POPLA now.

CEL sue people (not very well). It's defendable, but surely it would have been easier to have appealed seeing as this forum tells you how? You could have used a template appeal and had this cancelled within a fortnight.

Unless you are in NI or Scotland, the advice has not been 'ignore' for over three years!

So send the blue writing appeal now to CEL, even though they are not 'offering' appeal. At least it shows them you are on this forum and know the score. Read the NEWBIES thread at the top of this board, use that template appeal for BPA member firms.

DO NOT name the driver nor imply who was driving.

Come back if you get court papers and we'll have to help you unpick it the hard way. DO NOT PAY.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
