PCN - 47 Stopped on a restricted bus stop or stand

Options
Hi

My wife got a PCN for dropping off someone at a bus stop.

She knows there are some bus stop restrictions.

We went back to look at the signage. There is a small sign stating no stopping at the bus stop at any time. This is quite small & not facing the flow of traffic, it's at 90°.

We also noticed that the bus stop (being outside an underground station) is in the middle of a controlled zone. She dropped off outside the controlled zone times.

It's possible she saw this and as it was outside the restricted times, thought it would be ok.

Has anyone ever appealed on these grounds or can anyone give advice as to whether it would be successful?

Best regards

    That's the forum for you. Show them the PCN, all pages. Don't use a hotmail email to register.

    BTW, as has been said so many times, NEVER drop someone off at a bus stop or taxi stand. You can drop people in a controlled zone, bay, double yellow, single yellow, all of those would be OK!

    People seem scared of double yellows & controlled parking zones when they need to be more aware of bus stops & taxi stands (and red routes/clearways of course) as the real no-no.
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    If the "small sign" and road marking looked similar to this;

    then by stopping there it's the same as stopping as on a clearway, no matter how short the stop was. If the wording on the sign says "at any time" then the restriction is live 24/7.

    Your only chance of a successful appeal would probably be if the PCN is flawed in someway.
