You've received notification of two county court claims ... a summons is only received in respect of a criminal case.

What about witnesses summoned to a Parliamentary Select Committee, Privy Counsellors, summoned to a meeting?

Those aren't the same thing, there's no criminal sanction if they don't turn up.

If someone receives a summons to a criminal court, he has to turn up at the appointed day and time, otherwise the Police can be instructed to go and arrest him.

But with a court claim, there is no initial requirement to attend any court, it simply requires an admission or defence. If a hearing date is set later in the process, it simply means the defendant must either turn up, or risk losing by default.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Indeed, but my original use of the word was not incorrect, (in a literary sense), just as a fine is not confined to courts, libraries for instance levy fines, as does UEFA.

quickly before i go, are they allowed to issue two tickets 30 minutes apart in the same car park?

Come back when you have acknowledged the claims as per bargepole's thread already linked.

Show us your defence based on those you read on the forum and those linked under 'Small Claim?' in the NEWBIES FAQs thread. Read what's already here and you can defend these and ask for them to be merged (it is unjust to serve two claims, potentially giving rise to two lots of costs). The reason will be because BW Legal serve these without a second glance, no scrutiny = 'robo-claims'.

They play a numbers game, lots of people give up. No need to bother to actually look at a case until someone like you defends - and you can defend these.

please go 'Advanced' edit and change your thread title. 'CCJs' is scary and misleading for newbies.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
