Painting the bookcase

My large book case has been reassembled so I am now preparing to give it a fresh coat of paint.
Is there an order to follow? Uprights before shelves? Do the shelves from top to bottom or bottom up?

I would have painted it before reassembly. Much easier that way.
Otherwise, it doesn't really matter, but if you can still move the bookcase, paint the horizontal surfaces, let them dry and rotate it to expose another set of horizontal surfaces. Drips are less of an issue then.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
