Advice please-error on parking notice

I've received a PCN through the post from Parking Eye. I was about to appeal because the notice clearly states that the car park is for members only, however the permanent signage in place states that it is for 'patrons' only. As I was attending the premises for a legitimate reason I assumed that I was a patron and therefore entitled to park. To be fair, when I returned and checked the small print, there is an instruction for patrons to register at the reception desk. I didn't see that at the time. The signs had apparently been in place for around three weeks.
I now realise that there is an error in the spelling of my middle name on the PCN. My question is - Would I be giving the notice validity if I appeal? Or should I simply reply saying that no-one of that name resides at this address and put the ball back in their court?

    bpa code of practice:

18.11 Where there is any change in the terms and conditions that
materially affects the motorist then you should make these
clear on your signage. Where such changes impose liability
where none previously existed then you should consider a
grace period to allow regular visitors to the site to adjust and
    familiarise themselves with the changes.

have you been back to the site and spoken to the manager/owner ? explained that the part about entering details was small and hidden , and that non of his staff pointed out the terminal to sign in?

do this FIRST , get THEM to get it cancelled , or they have lost your and family/friends patronage , and facebook/trip adviser will get a hammering

Court being the operative word because they will sue. Don't play games. The PCN is 'valid' in PPC 'cloud cuckoo land' and PE sue the pants off people.

Is the PCN one with a blank space below the wording and no mention of the POFA/29 days - as explained in post #3 of the NEWBIES thread?

Which type of PCN do you have, out of the two described there?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
