£30K compensation - is Martin right?

Relared to this matter, I was surprised to hear on the BBC working lunch that if a joint account is held aech person is eligable for the FSA compenation, so £64K not just £32, trhis was contrary to my own understanding of the scheme.
The FSCS site is clear on this:
In the case of a joint account FSCS will assume that the money in that account is split equally between account holders, unless evidence shows otherwise.
This means that each account holder in a joint account would be eligible for compensation up to the maximum limit.0
