Car insurance - annual mileage cap
Asking for a friend here! She believe she was mis-sold her insurance as theres a 5000 mileage cap on it (which they've only just found out about) but they told the advisor that her and her partner have to visit family often in Winchester and Derby respectively (and they live in Southampton). It's been 4 months since they signed the papers. Is there anything they can do about this?
Thanks as usual

She won't have been miss-sold as she signed the documentation showing the estimated mileage and when you buy your insurance you normally choose the mileage you want (or tell the broker a figure). You can up the mileage just by ringing the insurers and asking them, there may be an increase in premium (but you would have paid more initially)

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Ah I made a mistake, I meant car lease not insurance.
Would it be possible to increase the mileage on a lease?0 -
Probably not. She can ask but most lease companies will charge X amount per mile she goes over the agreed limit. She should definitely check that as she could get an extremely hefty bill at the end of her lease.
Again, this would most likely have been mentioned before she took the car and if not, it would at least be on the paperwork that she signed.0 -
Ok! Thanks all for your help.0

Ok! Thanks all for your help.
Ring the firm, they may agree to up the limit for a fee who knows, bit different from PCP where the mileage is used for the guaranteed valueSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

I wonder if your friend saw the cheaper price for 5000 miles and chose that instead of a higher limit which would have cost more?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
