  • Hi,

well if you can climb a ladder, nothing, it's not very technical, heavy duty rubber glove and just scoop the muck into a carrier bag.

Estimate at 2 to 3 times what you pay for window cleaning.

I would but it's on the 2nd floor so not easy to access :( I would otherwise!

If you've got a friendly local roofer that you've hired before, he might do it for free.

Or is this just something we enjoy up here in the friendly North?

My dad pays about £50 once a year on a large semi detached. My mum got some handymen through the local council website and for £70 they cleaned the gutters (growing a small forest), replaced a couple of tiles and did a bit of pointing on the chimney, mid terraced property. Both properties in Warrington, NW UK.

On London, usually it's about £60-70 depending in area.

If you've got a window cleaner ask him to do it. That's the cheapest.

I just get my window cleaners to do it once a year as it's a pretty tall two storey house and I'm too clumsy to hang around at the top of ladders waving handfuls of crud. Oh, and the smell makes me gag!

    Costs me about £50
