How to get maximum HBOS overdraft

My daughter has recently opened the HBOS student which promotes a high overdraft facility. She was given £500 initially and her student loan is getting paid into it and a DD has been set up to pay her accomodation fees.
What we want to know is the best way to increase that overdraft facility quickly so that she can put it in her ISA and make some money out of it. Is there any particular way she should operate the account which will make them more likely to increase the overdraft quickly?

Not really. Its subject to status and credit rating I would assume. She could ask for a larger OD and see if they give it to her, probably not harm in asking. If she has a credit card and uses it and pays it off in full straight away that should give her a better credit rating enabling her to get a bigger OD in the future but for now there isnt really a lot you can do to 'manage' it. I wouldn't have thought anyway but somebody with a HBOS might be able to guide you more appropriately.0

To be honest I don't really fancy her getting a credit card. At the moment she has to get used to living independently away from home and managing her loan and I think having a credit card might be too tempting. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
