Skyeskyns, manufacturers and suppliers of finest quality sheepskins, is a family business established in 1983 in the dramatic setting of Waternish, North West Skye.
All year round, visitors to Scotland’s unique 4-star traditional exhibition tannery can witness time-honoured methods of making leather, possibly the oldest craft known to man, and browse perhaps the most comprehensive range of luxurious natural sheepskins and sheepskin products to be found anywhere.
As both manufacturers and leading retailers in their field, the company has established itself as the sheepskin specialists. The product range available covers a wide range of uses, from clothing, to baby care, medical care, pet care as well as functional floor covering and stylish interior decoration.
Many celebrity interior designers including Anna Ryder Richardson and John Amabile are customers and have promoted in the media the versatile and contemporary use of sheepskin around the home with stunning effect. Skyeskyns will be exhibiting at the Ideal Home show again this year from 12th – 21st October at the SECC, Glasgow but those unable to get there can view ideas or shop online at http://www.skyeskyns.co.uk.
In addition to the Blackface White double sheepskin in the chair, the other pictures are of a Hebridean Brown double in the bedroom, a fireside Donnetti Ruffer triple and Jacob octo on the wooden floor. The winner of the competition may choose from any of these 4 types for their double sheepskin.
