Price of flights differing for number of passengers

Hello
I'm in midst of organising a stag do to Ibiza next year.
We've found good flights with Ryanair from Stansted and just playing around i've found that the ticket is cheaper for booking 1 passenger than it is for booking all 9 that are travelling?
Is this common?
Is the best way to book 9 individual bookings?
Thanks in advance

totally common they have a number of seats at different prices so if they're aren't enough of the lowest price you'd all kick up to the next bracket.
you'll find you will get some at the lower price and the rest at the higher one - maybe worth contacting their group travel departmentThe futures bright the future is Ginger0 -
Yes it can have an impact- I seem to remember my mate having the same thing years ago when booking flights to Barcelona for a stag do with Jet2.
It may be a case that according to their pricing approach they may only have 2 seats left at £50 for simplicity and then the next lot are at £100 so they'll just sell all 9 at £100 per head.
One other thing once you have decided on how you are booking it clear your cookies before booking as that may make it cheaper (worked for me this year when booking flights to Pisa with Ryanair)0 -
Nice one thank you.
Ryanair's group department doesn't want to know unless there's 20+ passengers, which is a shame.
Is it worth making a call anyway?0 -
Probably not, just fiddle around with the number of passengers and make the most bookings you can in the lower fare class. Only downside is that the people on different bookings might not get seated together (unless you prebook seats).0

Just divide the total by the number of passengers and all pay the same.0

I guess that's what's he's doing and just looking to minimise the total to be divided upChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

That's exactly what i'm trying to do, in terms of minimising the total.
Not sure the previous poster understood that my point is not about how it is seperated down but the cost of individual ticket bookings versus doing as a whole group.
Thank you anyways.0
