PRA is what Mackenzie Hall turned into. Older posters like Mrs T will remember how much fun they used to be
OI!!! Less of the old!
But alas yes lol I recall the "good old days" when the first questions was "who's chasing it..." because 9 times out of 10 that told us if they had ANY evidence/rights etc without putting any effort in at all LOL They specialized in buying debts with no paperwork (and 1p in the £ might have been the high end of what they paid...)
Ahhhhh those were the times
Like when one of them tried to chase me for a debt I knew had been paid (gotta love Lloyds) with a consolidation loan from... yep, Lloyds HAHAHA - I actually phoned them because frankly I was bored and wanted a bit of a giggle... I never did hear back from themI don't think they liked me!

This is the attitude people need when dealing with debts.
Inject a little humour, these debt collectors are way too serious.
Of course it's a serious subject, but it can't hurt can it, serves to remove some of the fear, which is largely unwarranted !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Easier said when you know the debt is fiction and you know your stuff
I did enjoy letting them try every underhand trick from guilt to threats to get me to pay - after 55 minutes my lunch break was about over so I asked them a few pertinent questions about the statute of limitations act and then pointed out that firstly I contested the debt because it was never owed in the first place but actually repaid by a loan from the same bank. Second IF it had been owed then it was statute barred as no acknowledgement had been made and they had not chased it for 7 years... and finally if they ever tried to contact me again about it I would ensure that legal action followed against them and their employer for a number of issues given they had lied in trying to obtain funds from me. Amazingly I think they hung up on me... hmmmm
