New washing machine - advice

I'm after a new washing machine :T:D

I'm leaning towards an LG model because of the Direct Drive motor. I've narrowed it down to two from AO.com:

The F14U1TCN2 comes with a 2-year warranty but can be extended to 5-years free of charge, but it has fewer reviews and a less broader range of programmes than the F14B8TDA. Although the F14B8TDA has a broader range of programmes and more reviews, but only comes with a 2-year warranty.

Any advice on which one to go for would be appreciated. I'm a bit stuck :(

Wouldn't worry about the range of programmes, you'll only use one or two.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I would say the second one. It's very similar to mine and the functions look a lot easier to select on the one with buttons and knobs that the one with pseudo touch screen.

For me, the important things are being able to change the temp and spin speed of a programme.

Mine has the same number of programmes as the second one, I use 'cotton' for sheets and towels, I have a 'cotton quick' that doesn't seem to be on the new ones it's 40c 1400 spin, maybe it's the 'cotton large'? I also use 'quick 30' for lightly soiled loads but usually put it up to 40c, occasionally I'll use 'delicate', I use 'bio wash' for after sickeness and 'duvet' for duvets and the 'tub clean' function after I've washed the dog's bed. I also use the 'delay' function a lot so that the washing is ready to hang out first thing in the morning.

I love my LG, this is my second, the first one I had for 10 years but changed when we had a new kitchen, this one I've had for 5-6 years, no probs with either of them.

Very pleased with it so far. My personal preference is to go into a shop like Curry's and have a look / play (last time I went in there was power to all machines) and see what you think. Then go online and search the best deal. Don't forget the cashback!!

Our LG washer lasted about 12years, the display started going but it still worked, it destroyed it's own door seal on the door catch and getting spares proved difficult to source so I gave up
shame really I think the mechanics had plenty of life left in them

Got a new Bosch as that was hitting the sweet spot that month.

I'd like to order the new machine from AO purely because they've always been very helpful and willing to go the extra mile for me when my previous washing machines were faulty.

I've heard good and bad things about Bosch. Although I've also heard that the bushes tend to go after a few years?

Edit: In the end I went for a Hotpoint WMAO863P. Seems to be a good machine. The only thing bothering me is before every rinse cycle, as it gears up for the spin, the drum is unbalanced and it spends a fair bit of time trying to re-balance the load. Then as it gears up for another attempt spin, the drum is still out of balance but sometimes balances out when it spins faster.
