Halfords Wipers rip-off.

To be fair to Halfords they're just like any other retailer, with bargains for certain things and not so competitive with other items. No big deal, if you can't be bothered to shop around, especially these days, then more fool you.
This. I've recently bought something from Halfords because they were by far the cheapest I could easily find and needed them fairly quickly. £5.99 at Halfords, £8.29 on eBay and £8.50 on Amazon so not an insignificant difference.
So long as you're prepared to do a bit of research they may work out cheaper, they may not but if you're in a rush and they're competitive, why not!0 -

I order mine online, I only buy Bosch or Valeo. I think my last set of 3 cost me £18 delivered to my door.
Hafrauds serves an important purpose, it provides car parts to people on the clueless side of car maintenance and gets people involved in looking after their cars, without them we'd be worse off, but there is a price to be paid.
+1
I get mine online too - I always get Bosch Aeroblades - and usually for a fraction of the price of Halfords.0 -
My ex son in law worked for Halfords. He told of people who would buy a child's car seat at Mothercare and then bring it round to Halfords and expect him to fit it for free! So rip offs work in both directions.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

This is what I have to do when changing my headlight bulb, it's inconvenient but I still wouldn't pay anyone to do it.

Absolutely this!
One of my previous cars was a total mare on which to change the nearside dipped beam lamp. (Offside was a doddle - nearside you needed hands like Mr. Fantastic to be able to access it without taking out the battery, battery box, disconnecting a fuse box and moving it aside ... unless you removed the wheel arch liner and accessed that way).0 -

borowed a mates car the other day and he had some real quality wipers on, thic flat things that worked really well, not all blades are the same0

You could have got a set of Lucas blades from Halfords for £8.70 and so saved the petrol used in going to Wilkos.0

Wilkos wipers last a few months before starting to smear. Wipers from a local motor factors, while over twice the price of Wilko but cheaper than Halfords, lasted 2 years before smearing.0
