Hello
I hope you can help.
I have set up a new email address and was adding it to the accounts on Microsoft Outlook.
I got to the options of setting up as POP, IMAP or Exchange Autosync.
As 'Autosync' sounds nice and painless that is the one I chose. It seemed to set up very quickly with a nice big green tick. "Great" I thought.
No, now when I go into my email I get an error box appear:
The server configuration prevents you from synchronizing. Contact your system administrator
If i click the 'OK' box the error message just reappears immediately. I now can't use my email as this error message wont budge.
I now have read that Microsoft Exchange Autosync is NOT COMPATIBLE with Outlook. Well if not, why offer it as an option!?!?!?!?!?!?
What can I do to resolve the issue?
Any help much appreciated
Phil

But is it a Microsoft email? What's after the "@"?0

No, it's not a Microsoft email, after the @ is my domain name set up via one.com. Their website says that Exchange autosync can be used on tablets and phones and actually Exchange Autosync is NOT compatible with Outlook on a PC. This appears to be confirmed an microsoft forums found when googling the error message.
I am wondering why Outlook offered it to me as an option. And also, how do I get out of the error message loop?0 -
Use IMAP - settings at one.com
Eg. https://www.one.com/en/support/guide/mail/setting-up-microsoft-outlook-20130 -

thanks grumpycrab. I would love to do that (and indeed have done so on my other laptop and phone etc) but the error message box wont go away, just click ok and it returns instantly. In the meantime, I cant click on anything in outlook for as long as the error message is there
So my question is: How do I get rid of the error message box?0 -
can't you just remove the autosync account from the PC? and set up a new IMAP or POP3 onedoningtonphil wrote: »thanks grumpycrab. What do you mean by the above statement? Are you able to open Outlook without the error box appearing? Is it only when you try to send/receive you get the error? Can you disable your internet connection and try to open Outlook, then delete the account as suggested above. No, now when I go into my email I get an error box appear: .....0
