Post Office Instant Saver

I don't see the PO getting mentioned yet its Instant Saver looks interesting with 6% and 5 ways to access account including local POs so little chance of the Northan Rock withdrawal bottlenecks. We are about to abandon NSI ISA as we have never got it to recognise the passwords it has given us for intenet access. Any comments?

  • Yes but the Instant Saver a/c is actually with the Bank of Ireland - so at the end of the day the Post Office counters are just acting as paying agents for the Bank of Ireland and paying agents may well stop paying out sooner than branches of an institution if there was any doubt about the paying agent getting paid!

Keep it under your bed - and remember your house insurance only covers you for a few hundred - IF you believe they will pay out! AND hope the Electricity and Gas and Water and Phone companies continue to trust YOU with their services that you probably haven't paid for yet - ie they've deposited elec/gas/water/calls with you and not got their money back yet!

All this speculation is NOT healthy! Let's NOT get back to person to person barter outside our caves!
