Booked 3 weeks in disney for 4 adults but....

But my eldest has had to pull out . We have booked all 4 seats together.
I asked virgin about a refund but as we go on monday 14th nov (next week) but its too late and they cant change the name on the ticket (i can give up the seat and buy a new one)
so we have decided we will just keep the seat and keep it empty ( more room for us )
What I'm wondering is would disney (3 week) and universal (2 weeks) refund on the ticket she wont use ?

The airline seat won't be empty, they'll resell it.

Ok, in that case somebody on standby at the gate may be allocated the seat.

It's unlikely the seat will remain empty, so your thoughts of having more room on the plane are unlikely to be realised. Airlines always over-sell flights. When they don't check in your son, they'll reallocate the seat to somebody else and have oversold by one less seat.
