I work as a Mental Health Nurse,as you can imagine i spend a lot of time on my feet.Looking for recommendations for good walking trainers. Bearing in mind there is under floor heating and i do off ward escorting duty which can be up too 10 miles in a week and that's not counting the walking i do in the ward.Just need something comfy for my poor feet!!

If you have been struggling with getting comfortable trainers you might want to check if the issue is something which might be helped with custom fit orthotics - I have high arches and have found it invaluable getting some made which give my feet some proper support.

Depending on how much of a dress code you have, I would recommend salomon if you need something heavier duty than running shoes, asics if you want running style trainers, geox if you want smarter trainers and hotter if you want something a bit more shoe like. All do models which have insoles which can be replaced with custom orthotics if you choose. Hotter do lots of special offers on their website, including a couple of times a year a 3 for 2 offer. Asics I have picked up last season ones on Amazon, Salomon via Go Outdoors as another poster suggested is a good idea (I got mine from there) and Geox do pretty good sales.

A friend who did a very similar job used to swear by MBTs. I had a pair but didn't get on with them - however it was the fact they had a stiff back which rubbed blisters in my heels rather than an uncomfortable sole, and I think I was just unlucky with the fit of the model I chose on my feet.

Karrimor are crap since sports direct bought them out. Quality has massively deteriorated

I'm a big fan of Skechers for walking :)
