Does anyone know of a provider that will allow me to open a USD bank account please?
I was told Citigroup did this, but now I only see their Citigold which requires an average of £150k or has a £75/month fee.
Cannot use HSBC.

What's your particular purpose?
Several UK banks offer USD accounts, usually with fees or a minimum balance (none so severe as Citi) Their usefulness is limited, and having a GBP account is often required first. There are many previous threads, search for them to see details.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Most UK banks will open a dollar account for you but they will be based offshore.
You need to check each individually for costs (they won't be free) and what you can and can't do. eg most won't let you pay $ cash in a UK branch to a $ account.0 -
Lloyds bank through their international banking offer it, not sure if there is a minimum balance to maintain.
You'd probably get something from the typical bank eg Barclays/RBS/LBG, surprised HSBC can't.
Otherwise search online, look at somewhere like moneysupermarket.0 -
