Is there a way to check if the area are owner occupied or tenant occupied?

Options
As titled.

Currently living at cal-de-sac unadopted road with mostly tenant occupied.

I just feel the neighbours not really looking after the street outside.

I knew that is not their responsibly, but I keep sweeping cigarette butts/ food packaging/ empty bottles on the street every so often to keep the street look nicer.

I guess if the area is more owner occupied, it may be better looking after?

I just wonder if there is way to find out before purchase...

Do you really believe that just because someone rents a property, instead of buying it, for a number of reasons, many of which have absolutely nothing to do with finances, that they enjoy living in filth?...

I think the best way to gauge an area is to go and see what it's like. Is there litter scattered everywhere? Does it looks like Viz's 22 S**t Street?

Would it be better to visit the area different times of day and weekend?

Spelling, use of English, grammar can be great clues about what sort of person someone is...;)

Is this litter being left by residents? Or someone else? Maybe the neighbours aren't bothering to clean it up because you are?

    WELL SAID!!!

It has nothing whatsoever to do with whether people own or rent, it's down to the individuals concerned, some people are obviously less bothered by rubbish in the street than others. Perhaps your neighbours feel there is no need for them to clear the rubbish as you seem to be doing a good job of it on your own ;)

    No clue.

I can honestly say when I lived in shared house previously, I contacted the landlord and ask him to sort out the maintenance stuff like overgrowing front or back garden. I obviously don't bother to do anything myself.

My next door is a share house , btw. It is 4 feet overgrownth every summer.
There were times that a couple bags of rubbish lying around in the garden for more than 2 months. Luckily the new tenants are better now. They take rubbish out for collection every week.

I didn't meant someone rent a property don't look after the place.

I was asking few colleagues earlier if they can tell a street with more owner occupied or a street with property being rent out. They do say they could spot the difference.

My initial thought is if you own something, you probably don't mind to spend extra afford to make it better? Maybe it I just me...
