BT Infinity, house on two electrical circuits - powerline adapters across the two?

Our house is wired on two electrical circuits.
We've got BT Infinity coming in at one end of the house on one circuit, and we really need to bridge the network over to the second electrical circuit.
Currently, we've a BT Smart Hub coming in at one end of the house, a BT Mini Hub to take us to the "boundary" of the first circuit, and then a repeater to take it on through to the other part of the house, but we're having problems when there are a lot of devices connected (I think we're getting duplicate IPs?)
Should I be able to have a powerline adapter from the Infinity Modem / Router to the first electrical circuit, a second powerline adapter at the boundary of that circuit, a powerline adapter on the second circuit and a network cable between the two?
Should that give me network capability on the second circuit?
I'm asking "should" as I tried it yesterday and it didn't work....
.. also, both circuits are on separate electrical distribution boards.

Has the Smart Hub replaced a previous model of Home Hub? If so, I suggest you use your old HH while you sort this out. There have been lots of problems with Smart Hub.

Ah. didn't know you could use hh5 with infinity. We got the Smart Hub with infinity upgrade but still have the hh5.0
