Latex Gloves
They are a godsend when doing DIY on a car, but I refuse to buy them at inflated prices. I bought some from a Vauxhall dealer for about £0.80 a box of 100. They don't sell them anymore and it was a special offer and a trade price - normal price was about £1.50 at the time.
But it illustrates how much these things should be, they should be under £3 a box, possibly under £2 a box. but I frequently see them in motor factors for £5 a box!!!!!
Has anyone got any tips on where to get them cheap? Especially in South Wales.
cheers.

I used to buy them at classic car shows and autojumbles. Boxes of 100 are usually £5 for two boxes.0

Have you heard of a thing called google? if you type in "latex gloves" you get loads of mail order companys (ca £1.75 for 100pr depending on how many you buy)0

Yeah then add VAT and postage and you're above £3 again.
I'm asking if anyone knows of a source (most likely excluding internet source, because the postage makes it unworkable, i.e. a high street source) which they use or have used where the price is under £3 a box or preferably cheaper0 -
The place I used to work at bought latex gloves basically by the pallet load, and out COST price was about £1.40-£1.50 ex VAT for a box of 100 gloves. I'd better not say what the selling price was, lol - all I can say is we made a "healthy" profit:eek:
Check round local industrail clothing/workwear/safety/catering suppliers in your area or go back to the motor factors and ask for their best price.
Oh and if you like latex gloves, try vinyl. They're about the same price but are thicker, harder to rip, so last longer. And apparently better for your skin. The only disadvantage is they don't "mould" to the shape of your hands as much so are as good for delicate tasks.0 -

Yeah, thanks, given the option I will be buying vinyl, because of the health issue, but like you say i think they will be loose on the hand/fingers so may not be as good as latex.0 -
you can buy a pack of 40 in poundland if that's any good?If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0

how much are the ones from poundland???
any way try the blue nitrile gloves, very similar to latex but they are better for your hands and dont rip as easilly but are still easy to work with....work permit granted!0 -
I'm always amazed at how expensive a box of latex gloves can be. After all they must be dirt cheap to product so the mark up on these things must be huge.
The last time I saw them for sale was in a supermarket, £5 for 100 gloves. What a rip off.Lack of money is the root of all evil.

We buy them from Premier Wipes in Ringwood (07990 596744). £17.00 for ten boxes of 100. We don't pay carriage but it could be because we buy 30 or 40 boxes at a time or maybe we collect them as they are local.0
