Good Morning everyone and Hugs for those in need of one. Coxy I think you will enjoy Eltham Palace, especially if you like art deco. Its an amazing place and one of my favourite spots to take the boys with my english heritage card at half term.
Well I had a very nice weekend,I went to my sis-in-laws and we went out to dinner at Posillipos in Faversham I can highly recommend it for a superb dinner ,lovely staff and the mimosa pudding was to die for.
Happy Cash Stash to a hammering as it wasn't cheap but as it was a present for my sis-in-laws recent 70th birthday it was well worth it She is going over to Mexico to visit my niece in December for two months so will be away for Christmas and New Year so it was a sort of Christmas celebration as well. Came home mid morning yesterday and DD turned up for brunch and a chin wag. Then went to youngest Dds for dinner last night.Came home with lots of left over veg and some lovely roast beef so tonight's dinner is sorted and also probably tomorrow lunch as well so not a lot of cooking in Chez Jackie's house until Wednesday. No food shopping to go for so far and probably not until around Friday at the moment.
The weather is bright and sunny but chilly so I shall wrap up warmly when I go to DDs later for letting the dogs out and the boys in
Youngest DD was saying that she needed a new dressing gown and I am donating my thick White Company one, as my house is fairly warm and very well insulated and I only wear in maybe about a couple of times a year as its very thick. Her house in a draughty town house and she will get better wear out of it than me:).
Just going to sort out my Christmas present list this morning as I also have six birthdays before Christmas to buy for as well !!! busy time present wise for me in November/December and trying to think what to buy for christmas is bad enough but birthday on top makes it a nightmare
Hope you all have a good monday , anyone heard from Hilstep at all ?
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
I wrote a long post yesterday and it went into the ether. Bright morning, washing on, need to re-make the bed with clean linen and do the Monday clean.0 -
Good morning everyone
It's very bright and sunny here but so cold. I've just got off the phone from my friend as her ex husband died suddenly last night. Their daughter's baby is due tomorrow and she is freaking out so my friend was asking what she could do to help her. It's difficult as her ex was a very very nasty man who treated my friend very badly to the point that she is disabled because of him, but her daughter tried to have a relationship with him. I am expecting lots more phone calls over the next few weeks.
I have an appointment at my GP's surgery for a diabetic eye screening. I haven't had one of those before and I am a bit worried about it as I have to have drops put in my eyes. Well, I will go and get it over with in a minute as my taxi is due soon.
Chilli nachos for tea and I will have a baked potato instead. Must remember to get the mince out for it though.
Sorry to hear about so many people on here with sad news. Sending you all a big cwtch (hug) and hopefully you will feel a bit better.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Dumpling you will be fine, I have it every year. The drops sting for a moment or two, you need to wait for a few minutes then whilst they work and then yu will be called in for the test, which is just like an eye test.
If you have sunglasses I would take them with you, because when you come outside into the light it is a shock because your pupils are dilated. That wears off after 2 or 3 hours.
Good luck

Looks as if it had rained through the night but nice now.
I need to go and collect mt new glasses later and pack and post a small parcel. Probably won't do much once I get back home as I need to get used to the new variofocals. Some present wrapping, lots of tea and browsing on here will be as exciting as it gets.
I have been trying to order a lot of little presents for Christmas and a birthday from a site that does good make up and perfumes but having trouble with system. Bank says I have payment gone through and their site says it is in the basket!!!
I phoned them just now and explained the situation and hopefully they have sorted it out, fingers crossed.
Coxy
You may have suggested Mexican chicken but hope you don't get Montezuma's Revenge.
Hugs to everyone having a hard time especially Lainey, TA, LWW and Slowly.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Dumpling try not to worry about your eye test; I know putting something into your eyes is kind of counter-intuitive, but it will just help the medical bods see what they need to see. I have to put drops in every morning, (for sjogrens syndrome) and I'm getting used to it now.
My day has been blown apart somewhat; Mr LW had a GP appointment originally set for 15:20 this afternoon, with a GP he's seen many times before. The surgery texted him a couple of days back to call them, and when he did, they wanted to change it to a different GP (one neither of us has heard of before) at 10:40 this morning. He's not fussy who he sees, so he agreed. so off he went this morning; he called me a few minutes ago, the GP has now sent him to the hospital for a chest x-ray. Of course, I'm imagining the worst. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LONE WHITE WOLF try and make time for yourself.
LAMEWOLF hope things turn out ok.
DUMPLING I have to go to hospital for my diabetic eye test as have retinopathy and have had laser treatment. Take sunglasses, eye drops really sting and I usually end up with a slight headache.
Friday went to a friend's bonfire and firework display. Hot dogs and Apple pie. Nice mix of people including a lot of young adults. However standing in cold and wet made me seize up and lots of pain. Quiet weekend caravan now cleaned.
Today I've had a bad day with lots of low blood sugars so spent most of day asleep or on sofa. Got to contact school as daughter been put on report which doesn't make sense. Even her form teacher is unsure why. Worryingly we have a chance of snow tomorrow night so feel town will be a lot busier than normal as we are surrounded by lots of countryside and small villages. Can't remember snow this early in the year before.
Keep warm and safe. Hugs to those who want/need them.0 -
Hope your Dd's report is a mistake and it gets straightened out cafekate.
Dumpling, hope the procedure went ok and your DD is ok.
Everyone seems to be having quite the troubles. I'm rather thankful for my boring life.0 -
Lovely but freezing cold day here, so I put on my thermals, hat scarf and gloves
and toodled down town to pick up a few bits, I was perished when I got home. Going to put flannelette duvet set on the bed tomorrow at this rate
Had my hair cut on Saturday by 6 inches  I am really pleased with it, it looks thicker and it is so easy to shake it in the morning, add a bit of putty and it is done
LW hope your DH is ok xxx
TA sorry to hear about DD's friend give her a big hug from me xx
dumpling I am surprised that your GP does the test , I have to go to hospital to have it done. As others have said the drops do sting, but it doesn't last long, then you wait for a few minutes put your head on the viewer and they take photos of the back of the eye, I agree with CafeKate, take sunglasses with you, my DH always says that I look stoned when I come out :rotfl::rotfl:
Elona, I hope you get things sorted with the bank/ shopping site.
Had beef casserole and dumplings tonight with Broccoli and roast potatoes, even prepared tomorrow's dinner......... cottage pie with swede mash topping, that is in the fridge, so an easy meal day
Feel really tired tonight so off to get jammies on and have an early night.
BFN xxBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
