Wrong convention code

Today I received a parking ticked with a convention code 01 "Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours (non-goods vehicles)" however the sign clearly states that the hours are Monday-Friday 8am-6pm - today was a Sunday and I received the ticket at 15:30.
However, I was not parked in a signed bay but was not on any either single or double yellow lines either.
If the ticket was supposed to be for convention code 24 "Not parked wholly within the markings of the bay or space (Controlled Parking Zones only)" but they gave me it for a 01 am I able to appeal? As I definitely wasnt parking during the prescribed hours.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.
